Baystate Medical Center – Greenfield and Springfield
Description
Adult Partial Hospitalization Service
The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program of the Department of Psychiatry, a service of Baystate Medical Center, provides short-term intensive psychiatric services for patients ages 18 and older in need of crisis intervention and stabilization. Program participation may function in lieu of inpatient psychiatric treatment, or as a necessary transition after a brief inpatient hospitalization.
The program provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach that includes milieu treatment, individual and group treatment, psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, and case management. It is a time-limited, focused approach with emphasis on psycho-education, stabilization and relapse prevention.
We encourage family member involvement. Staff members collaborate closely with outpatient providers in order to ensure continuity of care. The program serves patients with a full range of psychiatric disorders, including, but not limited to:
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorders
- Eating disorders
- Chemical dependency
- Dual diagnosis
