RIDOC Reentry Services Unit (RIDOC = RI Dept. of Corrections)

Government reentry program inside the state prison system. As inmates approach release, RIDOC discharge planners develop individualized transition plans and run pre-release forums to inform inmates of available community services. They coordinate essential post-release needs – housing, mental health care, medical services, substance abuse treatment (including MAT), employment referrals, etc. – and connect offenders to community providers for continuity of care and to reduce recidivism.
